Yes, I am. My mom used to read Tolkien to me when I was a kid, and I never stopped liking his work.

As for the competition… such is life. I’ll still make the dishes; I just don’t know when. I’m thinking about doing the cake for a holiday party, though.

As for mead… I know a couple really well-stocked liquor stores near me, so I think I’ll have no problem. You may want to Google around, though.

Anyway, I’m sorry about your competition being canceled. After such preparation, that must have been quite a letdown. Hopefully you get some good results out of these.
That spice cake, for one, sounds delicious. If it turns out well, I might have to hunt down some mead and try it myself.

I went very traditional – honey roasted turkey, Yukon gold mashed potatoes, apple sausage stuffing, orange cranberry sauce, peas, apple pie, and pumpkin ginger pie. The basics, really. I am preparing a post on an experiment that is about to happen, though.

Well, inasmuch as we can be certain of such things with legends, I do believe we are. I’m honestly more fond of beef, but like I said, the Cornish hen works quite well for this.

Sorry, I only ate them in Slovenia, and I definitely don’t speak Slovenian! I hope you enjoy the pasta. I think fresh pasta is much better than all the other kinds.
